Berceto Foundation
Sponsors the 52nd Xaverian Annual Dance.
On October 5, 2014
the Berceto Foundation held a dance at Riccardo's Catering in Astoria, Queens
in honor and appreciation for the work of the Xaverian missions which was
founded by Bishop Conforti who is the glory of Parma. Its missionaries are scattered
in 20 countries all over the world and bring education, Christianity, and hope
to the local people. Father Grappoli,
representing the Xaverian Missions led those attending the dance in a prayer
for peace. He was also presented with a wood engraved picture of John Paul II .
The Berceto Foundation also sponsors another dance in the Spring which supports
our elderly in Berceto.
The feast was organized
by Anna Sabini (president of the Berceto Foundation) with the help of volunteers.
There were slightly less than 100 guests, a sign that the dance attendance is
decreasing and the events are numbered. Fifteen baskets were raffled, which
included pasta/cheese/oil a prosciutto donated by Rino Spagnoli and gifts from Isola
di Capri restaurant on the Manhattan east side and Colonial
Flower Shop of North Bellmore.
